The Carers’ Support Centre (formerly The Princess Royal Trust for Carers Bristol and South Glos) has launched its new holiday scheme. We are now taking bookings for holidays in luxury static caravans at two locations: the Cotswolds and Torbay in Devon. Whether you want a tranquil lakeside break in the country or a fun filled seaside holiday we are sure that you’ll find something to suit your needs.

Discounted holiday rate for carers

Our holidays are designed for carers and their families; we recognise that carers need to take a short break from time to time. To be eligible for our discounted carers’ rate you must be a carer providing unpaid support to a family member or friend who could not manage without you. There must be at least one carer per booking. You can book a carers’ holiday either with or without the person you care for.

These holidays are provided by The Carers’ Support Centre Bristol andSouth Gloucestershire. You don’t have to be a local resident to use our holiday service, but we will give priority booking to local carers.

Any money generated through our holiday homes will go back to The Carers’ Support Centre, which is a charity that provides a range of services to carers.

Our holiday homes are located at Hoburne Holiday Parks (www.hoburne.com) which have a fantastic range of facilities,including heated indoor and outdoor pool, sauna and steam room, kids club, soft play, nature trail and a restaurant and bar. At both sites there is also an evening entertainments programme.
Participation in all of the facilities is included in the price of your holiday.

We have two and three bedroom caravans which comfortably sleep either four or six people.   If you have a bigger party we might be able to accommodate you – please ask for details. We also have two wheelchair-friendly caravans at each site. These feature a ramp for access, wide entrance and passage, flat sliding doors, bathroom grab handles, low threshold disabled shower with seat, and movable dining furniture.

 The CEA Card 

The CEA Card is a national concessionary card developed by the Cinema Exhibitors’ Association for UK cinemas in order to allow people with disabilities to obtain one free ticket for a person accompanying them to the cinema.

To apply for the card, you will need to meet one or both of the following criteria:
a) Be in receipt of the Disability Living Allowance or Attendance Allowance;
b) Be a registered blind person.

The aim of the CEA Card is to provide a consistent voluntary approach to the provision of complimentary tickets for people with disabilities.
