Understanding heart conditions isn’t an easy task – there are lots of different types and knowing how the heart works is more helpful when trying to learn about these conditions.  Managing your diet, keeping fit, and watching your blood pressure are just a few important factors.

Scams Awareness Month – 1-29 February
www.scam-detectives.co.uk

Haven’t we all had a website pop up telling us we’ve won thousands of pounds for being the ’1,000,000th member of their site’, or something else similar? It’s happened to me many times and while I would definitely like to believe I’d won that kind of cash – I’ve come to recognise a scam!
Around 3 million people a year fall victim to online scans. Scam Detectives wants us to use Scams Awareness Month to prevent people from being taken in by these convincing scams online,  email or via text and phone.

OCD Awareness Week 20-26 February
 www.ocdaction.org.uk

Some of these compulsive fears can be related to germs and dirt, while others will be more aggressive. These might include thoughts about harming loved ones or a fear that household appliances will cause a fire and so on.
Although there are different OCD disorders, each have something in common: they are all distressing, frequent and difficult for the person affected to control.

End the Care Crisis – Mass lobby at Parliament 6 March
Houses of Parliament, Westminster
Our social care system is broken.
It cannot cope with a rapidly ageing population and positive impact of people living longer with illness and disability.
Those who use our social care system can no longer tolerate a social care system which leaves many with no support and others with poor quality services. The public are angry that they can face huge care charges and end up losing all their savings or being forced to sell their home. We want a fair and sustainable care system which delivers dignity, independence and peace of mind for older and disabled people and their families.
