Volunteers
Every organisation needs volunteers

We need volunteers to carry out various tasks, depending on their skills and interests.
The benefits of volunteering include:
- Personal satisifaction, achievement and enjoyment
- Gaining skills and valuable experience
- Helping other people to improve their quality of life
- Occupying time in a meaningful and constructive way
Examples of the types of volunteer work available are as follows:
- Become a Trustee: attend and participate on the Board of Directors (co-opted or elected)
- Office and administration: computer work(Must have computer knowledge of Microsoft office), filing, photocopying, answering telephone.
- Carers Cafe: help preparing, serving refreshments and helping with activities.
- Annual Events held by Hillingdon Carers: help preparing and serving refreshments, welcoming clients or guests, helping out generally.
- Mailouts: sending out the newspaper that goes out seasonally or any other information that needs to be sent to all carers and professionals.
- Outreach Work: helping Hillingdon Carers staging and managing outreach posts at other organisations events.
- Young Carers Saturday Club: helping the staff in running the club with arts & crafts, sports and cooking
Volunteers at Hillingdon Carers are treated in the same respectful and courteous manner as paid members of staff. We hope that this will be a positive and rewarding experience bringing with it, its own challenges. We allow our volunteers to develop their existing skills and acquire new ones for their own personal or academic development and enjoyment.
If you have a few hours spare and would like to volunteer, please contact the office or pop into our Information & Advice Centre, where you can pick up a Volunteers pack.
