Providing care for a loved one should not cost carers their mental and physical health. Sadly however we know that caring can be emotional and physical draining and many carers experience significant stress caused by the nature and extent of their caring responsibilities.

Carers tell us that the impact of caring is not just physical, they have increased levels of anxiety, depression, stress and poor sleep patterns; these are often intensified by social isolation and loneliness.

Complementary Therapies
Complementary therapies are pleasant and
relaxing to receive and can help with reducing
anxiety, aiding relaxation, easing aches and
pains and improving sleep.
Carers are offered a course of four sessions
of a treatment which last for 30 minutes.

Therapeutic Care for Carers

Wellbeing Workshops 2019
In a small group setting you will experience a
variety of simple to learn techniques that you can
use every day to enhance your coping skills,
improve your ability to relax and to maintain a
better sense of wellbeing in your daily life.

These practices include Tai Chi, Mindfulness, Meditation
and Exercise involving the body and mind to help
you manage stress, enhance sleep and finding joy
in an alternative way.
These workshops are offered in six sessions and
you need to attend all sessions to fully maximise
the benefits this course.

What is Leisure Link?

The LeisureLink card provides a discount to concessionary groups at leisure centres and library facilities. The scheme has recently been reviewed and extra concessionary groups such as asylum seekers, students and those who receive council tax benefits have been added. Over 65+ swimming is FREE.
