The latest in our family of support services, this is a specialist service for young adult carers
from 17-24 years old to help them to access employment or further education.

We know that young adult carers can need extra support in order to make the transition from school to whatever comes next. Thanks to a grant from the Lloyds Bank Foundation we are now able to offer:

  • Intensive case work to support access to apprenticeships, volunteering roles, further education and accredited training opportunities and to provide support to apply for grants and bursaries. We also offer a personal mentor to participants.
  • A programme of training to help prepare participants for the world of work or further education. This includes workshops on things such as financial management, confidence and self-esteem, CV writing and interview skills.

Hillingdon Carers also offer a complementary social programme as the young adult carers we work with tell us that breaks from caring are critical to their wellbeing.
